Grants DonorsChoose - Allows teachers to submit project proposals for materials or experiences their students need to learn. These ideas become classroom reality when concerned individuals, whom they call Citizen Philanthropists, choose projects to fund. Science Teacher Resource Grant - Offers up to $500 available to K-12 public school teachers in 7 Bay Area Counties for classroom materials and field trips related to conservation science projects. New Notions for Excellence Program - Awards up to $2,000 to teachers in the Oakland public schools who develop innovative projects to enhance student learning and support professional development. NEA Foundation Student Achievement Grants - grants to improve the academic achievement and engage students in critical thinking and problem solving that deepen their knowledge of standards-based subject matter. The work should also improve students’ habits of inquiry, self-directed learning, and critical reflection. Proposals for work resulting in low-income and minority student success with honors, advanced placement, or other challenging curricula are particularly encouraged. The grant amounts are $2,000 and $5,000 Dreyer's Foundation Grant - The Foundation makes small grants ($1,000 or less) and donates ice cream products and gift certificates/auction items to bona fide nonprofit organizations for events. These proposals are reviewed on a monthly basis. Fund for Teachers - Enriches the personal and professional growth of teachers by recognizing and supporting them as they identify and pursue opportunities around the globe that will have the greatest impact on their practice, the academic lives of their students and on their school communities. ING Unsung Heros - Provides $2000 for an innovative classroom project. Target Teacher Grants - Provides $700 for field trips. PG&E Solar Schools Program - A collection of grants for solar energy projects. San Francisco Foundation - Supports families and communities to help children and youth succeed in school and provide opportunities for them to become confident, caring, and contributing adults. Pacific Gas and Electric Company Charitable Contributions Program - A part of PG&E's program supports school and environmental stewardship programs. ($1,000-$10,000) Best Buy Teach Award - Recognizes creative uses of interactive technology in K-12 classrooms. Winning Teach Award programs focus on kids using technology to learn standards-based curriculum, rather than on teaching students to use technology or educators using technology that children are not able to use hands-on. Toyota TAPESTRY Grant - Recognizes outstanding educators who are making a difference by demonstrating excellence and creativity in science teaching. The program offers grants to K–12 science teachers for innovative projects that enhance science education in the school and/or school district. ($2500/$10,000) |
