OUSD Professional Development 2011-12Below are science professional development opportunities within Oakland Unified.
Elementary science PD will be primarily site-based for the 2012-13 school year. Click here for a general description of the sessions. Please contact your principal or Lead Science Teacher for details. We suggest individual teachers who need support view the instructional videos on FOSSweb. It covers every investigation in the 18 FOSS kits. Outdoor Education Trainings Weekend Walkabouts Secondary Professional Learning (6-12) Back to School Science BBQ and PD Mark your calendars! This very popular annual tradition on the official first day back is a great chance to relax, get some resources, and connect with science colleagues. We start all together at 4pm with introductions, highlights of the coming year, and interactive science activities that are fun for us and usable with students. At 5pm, you have a choice of workshops targeted to novice and veteran teachers. And at 6pm, the fabulous BBQ feast (with vegetarian options) is a great time to network and relax with a truly exceptional community of educators.
